Congratulations!! You’re engaged!!!!!

Well, we like to believe that you are looking for a wedding photographer because you've been asked a very important question but you may just be wishing and hoping that big question will be asked soon. Either way, welcome. We are Art Me photography, also known as Ian and Sam, a husband-and-wife team living in Northwich.

We absolutely love being a part of a wedding day. It's such a special time in a couple’s life. As soon as you inquire about us, we are dedicated to giving you the day and the photographs to remember. Your wedding day will go by so fast, in a flutter of moments, moments that you have waited so long for and that when you close your eyes and imagine the perfect day, you see all those tiny details that will make up the best day of your lives.

From getting ready in the morning with your best group of people, to the moment your future partner sees yo at the beginning of the aisle.

Your first dance, to those intricate table decorations you've spent months planning. Our job is to capture those details, so then, in years to come when you are older and trying to remember those details, they are right there in colour. Finding the right photographer isn’t always easy. Just like finding your right partner, there needs to be that spark.

So here are some top tips for finding that right fit, and what to do once you’ve found them.

Knowing your budget.

Getting an idea of how much you’d like to spend on your wedding photographer is your first step. There's no point finding a photographer you love and then discovering they’re well beyond your budget. The best way to do that, is to figure out what are the most important moments you want to capture. You may just decide that it's just the ceremony that you want photos of. However, you may also know that for you, it’s important the whole day is captured. Once you’ve decided what you want, then you will find it easier to know what photographers are on budget. For instance, we offer a variety of packages, that range from drinking bubbles in the morning as you get ready, to your last dance. There is some flexibility with our packages, so it's always worth reaching out.

Decide your vision.

There are many different styles of wedding photography and finding the perfect style will set the tone for the day. Do you prefer traditional, posed images, or do you want relaxed, candid photos of everyone enjoying the day? Traditional or formal wedding photography is the classic posed look you'll see in conventional group shots of the couple and the wedding party. Candid images are more where your photographer will stand among and around you and your guests capturing those spontaneous shots. Some photos of your bridesmaids crying as you take your vows. Your young guests pulling faces whenever you kiss. This style is more relaxed, so you can expect your photos to tell the real story of your day.

Arranging a meeting.

You will be spending a lot of time with your photographer, and they may be with you the whole day, so you need to feel relaxed and at ease with them. So, meet them face to face, write a list of any important questions you have before you go, so you don’t forget anything. It's also a great idea to meet them at your wedding venue. This way, you can show them your vision and they can check the location for the best places and lighting.

Book an engagement shoot!

Some people hate having their photo taken, they get a grimace on their face as soon a camera is in front of them, plus you’ll be so much more comfortable on the day if you’ve had some experience of being directed and posing beforehand. This will also give you the opportunity to practise your “You may now kiss the bride” kiss. Engagement shoots are a great way to build up the excitement close to your wedding day.
